How It Works
The clock
Save the Clock runs in rounds. Each round starts with a 24-hour countdown. When it hits zero, the round ends.
Saving the clock
Anyone can pay to “save the clock.” Each save adds 2 hours to the time left, and the price to save it goes up £5. Whoever saved it most recently is shown as the Current Saviour.
If you get overtaken
If someone else saves the clock after you, you'll get an email letting you know your spot's been taken. You're welcome to save it again.
When the clock dies
Whoever was the Current Saviour when the clock hit zero becomes that round's official Saviour, permanently recorded in the Hall of Fame. It doesn't mean they stopped the clock dying. It means they were the last one still fighting for it.
What happens to the money
This round's charity is RNLI. 75% of everything paid this round is donated to them once the round ends; 25% supports running this project. This is a discretionary donation we choose to make from our own revenue. It isn't a charity fundraiser, and we're not collecting money on RNLI's behalf. See our Terms for the full detail.
What happens next
Once a round ends, a new round starts with a different charity, and the price resets to £5.
Logos
You can optionally upload a logo when you save the clock. All logos are automatically reviewed before going live. Anything that doesn't pass review won't be shown, but your save still counts either way.
